Here you can see the Nissan K21 crankshaft being inspected for side clearance with the connecting rods. Each individual journal has been cleaned, all of the rust preventative has been removed, and now our quality control manager will go through the steps of showing our .010” clearance on either side. Factory setting has a maximum of .015”, so here we’re showing that we are hitting our minimum of .010”. It’s important that every crankshaft is checked to make sure that we do not have too much side clearance when it comes for the installers putting the connecting rods together. Once again, this is the Nissan K21 crankshaft being inspected.
